Shadcn Hero Section Block Eight is the wide, atmosphere-heavy hero in the Quartz set. The top of the page sits over two theme-specific Unsplash gradients, each clipped with mask-b-from-55%, mask-b-to-75%, and matching top masks so the background fades out before it competes with the product frame.
The layout is direct: HeroHeader, a max-width headline group, two CTAs, ProductIllustration, then LogoCloud. It is visually different from the other hero variants because the product preview is not just a static screenshot. It exposes three tabs, Task Management, Analytics, and AI Copilot, with useState, AnimatePresence, and motion.div swapping the active screen.
Use it for a SaaS homepage where the first screen needs to show breadth without turning into a feature matrix. The tabs let you present multiple product surfaces while the dual buttons cover the common "start" and "watch demo" split.
It also fits launch pages for platforms with more than one buyer persona. The animated logo cloud below the hero cycles through AI, hosting, payments, and streaming groups, so the proof area can mirror different markets instead of showing a fixed logo strip.
next/image layers, one hidden in dark mode and one hidden outside dark mode.ProductIllustration is a client component with tab buttons, lucide icons, cn, useState, AnimatePresence, and a short scale/opacity transition.aspect-square on smaller screens and sm:aspect-3/2 once there is room.LogoCloud rotates logo groups on a 2500ms interval and animates entries with blur and vertical motion.Start with the three preview records. Replace the labels, icons, light images, and dark images before changing spacing. Then wire Get Started and Watch Demo to real routes, and tune the logo groups so the trust section matches the market named in the headline.
Yes. The source ships separate background and product images for light and dark contexts using dark:hidden and not-dark:hidden. Replace both sides when you add your own art.
Yes. The copy stack is constrained with max-w-5xl, the preview uses container queries to hide long tab labels on narrower widths, and the screenshot frame changes aspect ratio across breakpoints.
Yes. The useful edit points are the previews array, CTA links, headline copy, Unsplash background images, and logo groups. The component is ordinary React and Tailwind.
Use it when the product story needs a large visual demo and multiple feature angles, not when the page needs a minimal editorial opening.
